Complete Care For Feet and Legs

Your feet contain 28 bones, 30 joints and 100 muscles, so it’s no wonder they need special care. Podiatrists are medically trained professionals who treat the feet and lower limbs for injuries, pain and chronic health conditions that affect the blood flow to your legs and feet.

SGB Podiatrists are here for you if you have sudden pain, long term issues or simply want healthy happy feet.

How Can a Podiatrist Help?

Did you know your feet contain roughly one quarter of all the bones in your body?

The SGB team help clients get to the bottom of their foot, ankle and knee problems. We work with you to create an effective treatment plan that will banish pain and discomfort and prevent further issues.

Here’s some of the treatments we offer:

  • Nail care — clinical examination and careful management of your toenails, including treating ingrown toenails, fungal nail infections and clinical nail care.
  • Skin care — advice and treatment to prevent or remove skin complaints including cracked heels, calluses, corns, plantar warts, fungal infections and Athlete’s foot.
  • Biomechanical assessments — clinical examination to assess the mobility of your feet, knees and legs. Advice on exercises and adjustments to improve function, reduce pain and prevent serious injury.
  • Radial Shock Wave therapy – if you have persistent pain, this cutting-edge technology may bring new hope for relief. Using Radial Shock Waves, it stimulates the blood flow to the affected area and promotes healing.
  • Dry needling – used to relieved muscular pain and soft tissue injuries, dry needling is a non-invasive therapy that can bring significant relief.
  • Custom orthotics — tailor made shoe inserts to restore healthy function and improve a range of issues in the feet.
  • Steroid injections — Principal Podiatrist Steven Burton is endorsed by the Podiatry Board of Australia as a Prescriber, which means he can prescribe and administer steroid cortisone injections to treat inflammatory and arthritic conditions or soft tissue pain.
  • Diabetes checks — the health of your feet is of critical importance with a condition like diabetes. At SGB Podiatry you can use your EPC plan to receive proactive management that keeps your feet healthy.
